Every Cabinet Type

We install every METOD and SEKTION cabinet.

From a single base unit to a full kitchen renovation — every type is covered as part of our IKEA assembly services.

Foundation

METOD Base Cabinets

Standard base units — 600mm, 800mm, corner variants, and sink bases. Each box must be shimmed to the same level plane before countertops drop in. One unlevel unit throws the entire run out of alignment.

Most technical

METOD Wall Cabinets

Hung on IKEA's horizontal wall rail. Rail placement at exactly the right height is the critical first step — every upper cabinet's position depends on it. We locate studs, mark the line with a laser level, and secure the rail before any box goes up.

High-ticket

Tall & Pantry Cabinets

METOD high cabinets — 2000mm and 2240mm variants for ovens, refrigerators, or pantry storage. The tallest units require precise leveling and must be anchored both top and bottom to wall structure. Integrated appliance cabinets need precise opening dimensions.

Complex

Corner Cabinet Solutions

Blind corner base cabinets, UTRUSTA pull-out systems, and rotating carousel variants. Corner units are the most mechanical part of any IKEA kitchen. The UTRUSTA hinge mechanism requires careful adjustment to open cleanly without the shelves binding on the door.

Coordination required

Appliance Integration

Dishwasher openings, built-in oven cabinets, microwave surround boxes, and integrated refrigerator panels. Appliance clearances must be confirmed before the countertop drops in — a cabinet opening 1 cm too narrow means the appliance can never slide in once the top is down.

Final finish

Doors, Drawer Fronts & Hinges

AXSTAD, KUNGSBACKA, RINGHULT, BODBYN — every METOD door and drawer front requires individual hinge adjustment to hang flush and close square. A 12-cabinet kitchen can have 25+ adjustment points. We set every door plumb before we close out the job.

The Process

Done in three steps.

Firm price confirmed upfront. Full-day install window. Zero packaging left behind.

01

Share Your Kitchen Plan

Send your IKEA kitchen planner file, a screenshot of your cart, or a list of cabinet boxes with sizes. We confirm a firm per-box price before anything is scheduled.

02

Book Your Install Window

Most kitchen installs take a full day. We confirm start time, arrival window, and any building requirements — COI, elevator bookings, parking — well before we show up.

03

We Install, Level & Finish

We run the wall rail, build and hang every cabinet box, install all door and drawer fronts, and adjust every hinge until every door closes flush. Packaging leaves with us.

Know Before You Install

How complex is your kitchen, really?

Every kitchen is different. Here's an honest breakdown by cabinet type — what's involved, how long it takes, and where most DIY installs run into trouble.

Cabinet Type Difficulty Time (per unit) The Hard Part
Base cabinet (600mm, no drawers) Easy 30–45 min Shimming level with adjacent units
Base cabinet with MAXIMERA drawers Medium 45–60 min Drawer rail precision; soft-close adjustment
Wall / upper cabinet (standard) Medium 30–50 min Level wall rail; stud or masonry anchoring
Tall / pantry cabinet (2000mm+) Hard 60–90 min Plumb frame; top + bottom wall anchoring
Corner base (blind or UTRUSTA carousel) Hard 60–90 min Mechanism alignment; adjacent run fit
Built-in oven / appliance cabinet Expert 60–120 min Appliance integration; venting clearance
Full kitchen (10–12 cabinet boxes) Expert Full day Every step above, sequenced correctly

Times are for a single professional installer. DIY without prior kitchen experience typically runs 3–4× longer per unit.

Transparent Pricing

Per-cabinet-box pricing — you know the total before we start. Final quote confirmed after reviewing your full cabinet list.

Service Starting Price
Base cabinet box (assembly, leveling, toe-kick) From $45
Wall / upper cabinet (wall rail + anchoring + assembly) From $60
Tall / pantry cabinet (floor-to-ceiling) From $75
Corner cabinet (UTRUSTA or carousel) From $75
Door and drawer front installation + hinge adjustment Included
Appliance integration (dishwasher opening, built-in oven) From $50 each
Full kitchen — 10+ cabinet boxes (typical LA renovation) Custom quote

What affects the final kitchen quote?

Total cabinet count, ratio of wall to base cabinets, number of corner units, appliance integrations, and site access (high-rise elevator windows, staircase-only access). Older buildings with plaster walls or masonry behind drywall may add anchoring time for wall cabinets.

The Reality

Why IKEA kitchens are harder than the planner suggests.

The IKEA kitchen planner renders everything perfectly flat and square. Real Los Angeles kitchens rarely are.

The wall rail sets everything

METOD upper cabinets hang from a horizontal wall rail. If that rail is set at the wrong height — even 10mm off — every wall cabinet's position is wrong and the countertop gap won't clear the base units correctly. We mark the rail line with a laser level and confirm the measurement before drilling a single anchor hole.

LA walls are almost never flat

A kitchen wall that looks straight to the eye can be 1–2 cm out of true across a 3-meter run — especially in pre-war buildings in Silver Lake, Culver City, and the Westside. Base cabinets must be shimmed to the same level plane, not pressed against the wall. We treat shimming as the core of a kitchen install, not an afterthought.

Appliances must fit before countertops

A dishwasher opening 1 cm too narrow means the appliance can't slide in after the countertop is down. A built-in oven that wasn't measured against its actual cabinet reveals a ventilation clearance problem only after installation. We check every appliance dimension against the actual cabinet opening before the final base run is set — not after.

Apartment & HOA Ready

Your building requires a COI. We have one.

Most Los Angeles apartment buildings — especially downtown high-rises, Westside luxury towers, and HOA-managed communities — require any vendor entering the property to carry a Certificate of Insurance and name the building as an additional insured. Kitchen installers who can't produce a COI simply don't get access.

LA Assembly carries $2,000,000 in general liability coverage. We provide a COI naming your building or management company within the same business day. Just share the requirements when you book — we handle the paperwork before install day.

Real Reviews

LA kitchens we've installed.

“Full METOD kitchen — 14 cabinet boxes, two wall runs, a pantry unit next to the fridge. Walls were old plaster, not flat anywhere. They shimmed everything level and every door lines up perfectly.”

“My condo building required a COI before anyone could enter. They had it sorted before the install date and my building manager didn't have to ask twice. Kitchen looks like a custom build.”

MR

Culver City

“I was nervous about SEKTION wall cabinets going on concrete behind the plaster. They found solid backing in the right spots and every upper cabinet is absolutely rock solid.”

FAQ

IKEA kitchen installation questions, answered.

How much does IKEA kitchen installation cost in Los Angeles?
IKEA kitchen installation in Los Angeles starts at $45 per cabinet box for base units and $60 per box for wall cabinets. A typical LA apartment kitchen with 10–12 boxes runs $550–$800 in assembly labor. Wall cabinets, corner units, and appliance integration add to the total. We confirm a firm price after you share your full cabinet list — no hourly billing, no end-of-day surprises.
Do you install both METOD and SEKTION cabinets?
Yes. METOD is IKEA's current global kitchen system and what most Los Angeles stores carry. SEKTION was the previous US market system and is still found in older renovations, secondhand, or in some clearance inventory. The wall rail, cabinet box assembly, and hinge adjustment process is nearly identical across both systems — we handle both without issue.
Can you install IKEA kitchen cabinets in an LA apartment or condo?
Yes — and it's among our most common kitchen jobs. Most Los Angeles apartment buildings and HOA-managed communities require any vendor to carry a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming the building as an additional insured. LA Assembly carries $2,000,000 in general liability and provides a COI same business day on request. Just share the building's requirements when you book.
My walls are not straight. Will the cabinets still look right?
Walls in older LA buildings — pre-1960 construction in Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Culver City, and Westside neighborhoods — are rarely plumb across a full kitchen run. We shim base cabinets from the subfloor and run the wall rail at the correct height even when the wall surface waves. The finished cabinet faces are level and aligned; gaps between cabinets and the wall are shimmed and covered by the cabinet backs, fillers, and toe-kicks.
Do you hang wall cabinets on concrete or masonry walls?
Yes. Many LA kitchens — particularly in older buildings and ground-floor units — have concrete or masonry walls rather than drywall over wood studs. We carry masonry bits, sleeve anchors, and toggle bolts rated for the load. The METOD wall rail requires a secure anchor pattern; we locate solid backing or use appropriate masonry anchors at every mounting point so your wall cabinets are rock solid.
Do you install countertops too?
We install and level cabinet boxes, hang door and drawer fronts, and adjust every hinge and soft-close mechanism. We position base cabinets in final location so your countertop installer — laminate, stone, or butcher-block — can drop the top in cleanly. We don't fabricate or cut countertops ourselves, but we coordinate the sequencing and confirm appliance clearances before the top goes down.
